With the ever-growing popularity of smartphones and tablets, you will most likely find your student wanting to join in on the tech craze. While it is tempting to let your student play the latest version of Candy Crush or other games, we recommend downloading some educational apps to keep your child learning outside of the classroom. From learning games to math apps, here are a few of what we consider to be the best educational apps for kids:
ABCMouse is both a website and an app for mobile devices. It provides an online curriculum for children aged 2 – 7. The curriculum includes over 650 lessons on reading, language arts, math, science, social studies, and art. It is a great app to use while at home on the computer, or on the go with a mobile device.
Toontastic allows elementary students to bring their imagination to life! It’s an app that helps teach children storytelling skills. Users of the app can create their own story within the app and showcase the finished product. This is a fun app for children to use by themselves and even in a group!
My Math Flash Cards App
This is a great math flash cards app that can show either addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division cards to your student. They are randomly generated and are an awesome way for students to study and master their math facts.
