About:Hi. My name is Abisha. I completed my Bachelors of Education degree at Brock University. I have a background in Child and Youth Care and am certified by the Ontario College of Teachers. I obtained my Bachelors of Arts degree at Ryerson University majoring in Child and Youth Care and minoring in Psychology.
Every child has the ability to succeed. I thoroughly enjoy working one-on-one with students to help them achieve their full potential. My educational approach is to identify each student’s learning style and then work to accommodate the students' areas of strengths and needs through a program catered to each individual student. I believe that teaching requires collaboration between educators and students. For students to become both motivated and inspired to learn, I believe they should always be given the time to explore, be creative, ask questions, and become critical thinkers.
During my teen years, I spent many hours of my time volunteering at multiple elementary schools and at a hospital in the Pediatric ward. Throughout the summer, I worked as a camp counsellor and truly learned my passion for children and teaching. I enjoy inspiring children to be the best they can and love to help children learn skills that will help them in their future.
