Primary Junior and Intermediate Special Education Teacher andLiteracy Specialist
Blair graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and two minors in Geography and Psychology. He then went on to Nipissing University where he received his Bachelor of Education in the Junior/Intermediate Divisions with Geography as his teachable subject. Since then, he has received his Primary Basic Qualification as well as Additional Qualifications in Special Education Part 1, Reading Part 1, and Intro to the Primary Years Program (PYP). Blair has been teaching at an all boys private school in Toronto for 3 years where he has taught and supported English, Math, Geography/History, and Gym classes for students in grade 3, 4, 6, and 7. Blair has always had a growth mindset and has attended multiple Professional Development seminars that include Character Education and Building Resiliency. Blair takes pride in his ability to adapt to a wide variety of classrooms and understands that each student learns differently. He has very strong relational teaching skills that have allowed him to develop formidable, trusting, and respectful relationships with a multitude of learners. He thrives in creating an appropriate atmosphere for learning and has utilized his outgoing nature, positive attitude, and flexibility to reach every type of learner. Blair has also coached many different sports, including hockey, baseball, basketball, and track and field, some of which double as hobbies outside of the classroom! Blair has identified himself as a lifelong learner and hopes to create lifelong learners out of each and every one of his students!
