Senior Law & Accounting Tutor
Carina is a York University graduate, with a Major in Criminology and a Minor in Business. She graduated with Cum Laude designation. She also completed her Bachelor’s of Education at York University and is certified to teach in the intermediate/senior division.
Carina is currently a full-time teacher at a private school in Toronto. She teaches a variety of business courses including Accounting, Economics, and Marketing, as well as Canadian and International Law.
She has over 6 years of tutoring experience, and has worked with children from grade 1 through to University. She has strong writing skills as well as math skills, and is comfortable tutoring math up to grade 10. Carina is also able to assist university students with their essays and assignments, primarily in the Social Sciences field.
Carina’s approach to education is to make learning fun and engaging. She strives to make learning relevant to the student, and does so through a variety of differentiated lesson plans and instruction. She is able to adapt her teaching style to the individual student, whether they are an oral, visual or tactile/kinesthetic learner.
She is also genuinely interested in the success of each of her students, and thus is able to develop a great rapport with everyone she works with. She believes that with the right resources, every child has the ability to succeed! She is excited to join students on that journey to success.
On her free time, she participates in various sports (soccer, running, volleyball), and enjoys volunteering for various community organizations. She is also an avid martial artist, and has been training, as well as teaching martial arts to children for over 7 years.
