About:Chara completed her undergrad in Human Services with a specialty in Early Childhood Education at Tyndale University, before going to Nipissing University for her Bachelor of Education. Chara is qualified to teach all subjects at the Primary/Junior level and has over 8 years experience running different educational programs.
She especially has a passion to teach Math and is currently working on her Intermediate Math qualification. For the past 3 years she has been teaching young women who are trying to finish highschool by helping them prepare for the GED Ontario High School Equivalency Exam. Through lots of encouragement and creating individualized learning plans, she has helped students overcome their fears to helped them achieve their goals instead of giving up.
Chara has an additional qualification in Special Education and has experience working with students with Special Needs. She has a passion for finding different unique ways to help teach every type of learner. She strives to encourage her students, partner with parents, and keep the learning fun and engaging!
Some other experiences Chara has enjoyed:
Teaching Robotics, teaching swimming, lifeguarding, coaching/playing sports, growing up overseas in Portugal, learning to speak Portuguese, playing instruments (guitar, flute, voice), learning to cook different cultural dishes, directing day camps!
