Junior/Intermediate Generalist, French & IB Tutor
My name is Christina K Nagi. I am Francophone. However, I am likewise multilingual with an oral and written proficiency in both English, French and Greek. I graduated from York University with a Bachelor’s of Education and a Major in Literature and Linguistics.
I am multifaceted as I am a teacher, a coder (software development in a variety of Languages) and a Senior therapist (dealing with children and adolescents who have learning and developmental disabilities as well as children who have ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Aspergers). As a senior Instructor Therapist I have been have been trained formally by Leslie Cohen at Bloorview and at the Geneva Centre. I have taught at La Citadelle International Academy of Arts and Sciences and at one of Toronto’s private schools. This experience has enabled me to gain insight and increase my understanding of children who may require special attention or a different approach altogether when learning new material.
Lastly, throughout the years my practicum placements and volunteer experiences have involved teaching and assisting at Silverstream Public School and John Ross Robertson Public School. I have worked with a multitude of students in both elementary and secondary levels (teaching both literacy and grade 7/8 math) by improving their proficiency in mathematics, reading, creative writing, essay brainstorming and high-school level essay writing.
