Cindy (Hyun Joo) L.
About:Cindy received her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto Ontario in 2011 with a double major in English Literature and Women and Gender Studies with a minor in East Asian Studies, followed by a Bachelor of Education at University of Ottawa specializing in Primary and Junior grade levels. Cindy’s diverse experiences in working with students from a variety of background and ages as an international English teacher and a classroom volunteer have continued to blossom her professional knowledge in teaching.
Aside from her basic qualifications in Primary and Junior division, she also has experience in teaching TOEFL and IELTS to high school students. She is currently working on getting Additional Qualifications of Mathematics and ESL. Her education philosophy includes the goal to inspire, promote and encourage academic excellence, and ensure student equity. She strives to accomplish these goals through incorporating a wide range of teaching activities, manipulatives, technology and co-operative learning approaches into her classroom, while maintaining a fun and engaging classroom environment. These teaching strategies allow her to reach students with all forms of intelligence, while simultaneously providing diverse learners with appropriate educational materials.
