Cynthia holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and neuroscience from McGill University and is currently completing a masters in psycho-education.
She has over ten years of experience with children and adolescents who have autism and related disorders, and processing, sensory and behavioural disorders, along with ADHD.
She currently works as a special care counsellor in a Laval-based re-adaptation center where her main responsibilities consist of coaching parents and teachers regarding strategies, tools and organizational skills in order to maximize their child’s learning potential. She provides individualized intervention plans and recommendations to both parents and schools.
In addition, she works closely with a team of professionals including psychiatrists,
psychologists, consultants and occupational and speech therapists.
This multidisciplinary approach, has allowed her to incorporate a level of knowledge that focuses on the individual as a whole, including focus on self-help, social skills, and social-thinking processes.
