Primary Junior Teacher
Dorothy is currently pursuing a Master of Teacher Degree from the University of Toronto's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, specializing in Primary and Junior grade levels (K-6). Dorothy's thesis focuses on how Environmental Education approaches enact agency in students. This topic bridges her interest in delivering equitable science learning for all students and developing students as active citizens prepared for future global and local climate realities.
Dorothy received her Bachelor of Design from the Ontario College of Art & Design University and has worked in the design industry for eight years. She has always had a love for teaching and her interest in learning new technologies and sharing these finds with colleagues is innate. This passion for knowledge sharing has led Dorothy to pursue further studies in education. She has past experience in various roles, including: camp counsellor, piano teacher and classroom volunteer.
Dorothy believes that learning is a lifelong journey, therefore she feels teachers should find ways to engage students so that they too can find a love for learning.
