About:

Ellie graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies. She then went to complete her Bachelor of Education in Primary/Junior at University of Ottawa in 2014. Ellie has a wide variety of experience working with children in school settings, over 4 years of summer camp and in childcare working as a Registered Early Childhood Educator. She has worked with children from pre- school to grade eight in the areas of mathematics and literacy. From these experiences she has developed the passion for teaching children and ensuring that they are able to reach their goals and success’ in life.

Ellie is a certified teacher and academic coach. Ellie has experience teaching all subjects to students from grade 1 – grade 8 in a classroom and one-on-one. Through academic coaching Ellie is able to help students learn strategies for studying, organizational skills (note taking, writing and reading strategies) and time management skills. Ellie believes that these are all essential for students to have to become independent learners that they will use to reach their academic goals throughout their education. Additionally, Ellie is a trained SSAT coach who enjoys guiding students though the preparations for the test-taking process.

One of Ellie’s strengths is math and she is passionate about helping students find the confidence and strengthen their understanding in math concepts. In her spare time, she enjoys playing on her basketball team, watching her brother play hockey and spending time with the family.
