Primary Junior teacher
A Toronto native, Emily was educated at the University of Toronto where she received her undergraduate degree in Political Science, English, and Media Studies in 2015. She went on to pursue her Bachelors of Education at Tyndale University College in Toronto, with a specialization in the Primary-Junior divisions.
Prior to achieving her B. Ed, Emily provided one-on-on support to numerous ESL students in English, Math, and Social Sciences. She prides herself in her ability to establish a positive rapport with students, and create a fun, engaging environment that is focused on her student’s specific needs. Currently, Emily volunteers at an elementary school in midtown Toronto, where she introduced The Gardening Club to her Kindergarten class.
Emily’s love for teaching was inspired by her mother, a retired Special Education teacher working with at-risk youth throughout the city. Moreover, professional development is very important to Emily as she is TRIBES Certified and is actively pursuing a number of other Additional Qualifications on her teaching journey.In her off time, Emily can be found outside staying active, practicing yoga, or expressing her artistic side by painting or drawing fashion designs.
