Gillian received her undergraduate degree in Applied Science and Early Childhood from Guelph University along with her Early Childhood Diploma from Humber College. Gillian then received her Bachelor of Education degree at Brock University specializing in the Primary/Junior grade levels. Gillian has had a variety of experiences working with children in both formal and informal educational settings reinforcing her passion for teaching. Some of her most recent experiences include: 6 years of volunteering in classrooms from kindergarten through to grade 6, head counselor at a children’s educational camp, and a volunteer for Hincks-Dellcrest.
Gillian loves working one-on-one with students and focuses on their process of learning, an individualized approach and positive reinforcement. She firmly believes in the philosophy of, “Tell me and I forget; teach me and I may remember; involve me and I will learn” and adapts this into her teaching methods. Gillian is also completing additional qualifications in special education, enjoys spending time in the outdoors, reading and playing guitar.
