About:Grace holds a bachelor degree from the University of Ottawa and a bachelor of education from Nipissing University. In Ottawa, Grace studied Second Language Teaching, focusing on both ESL and FSL. Nipissing's hands-on approach gave her the skills to teach all core curriculum subjects. At Nipissing, Grace also received her FSL qualification and her Reading (Part 1) specialist.
After graduating from Teacher's College in 2011, Grace's passion for languages took her overseas to South Korea. She taught a range of subjects during her 5 years there. She was a homeroom teacher for Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2, teaching the core curriculum subjects to students from a range of cultural backgrounds. She also worked with upper elementary school students teaching ESL.
Grace has worked in classrooms for Ontario school boards since she was in high school. She returned to Ontario in January where she taught Core French for the remainder of the 2016 school year.
Grace believes in constructivism: that students make meaning out of the interaction of their experiences and ideas. This is why she uses a wide variety of resources such as songs, stories, games and field trips - to let students approach their learning from different perspectives.
