About:Hala is currently studying in the Concurrent Education Program at York University, double majoring in Applied Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences in the International Bachelors of Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Education.
Hala has been teaching/tutoring for seven years, and continues to do so. She has taught mathematics and other subjects in Egypt and China. Tutoring and teaching all ages and levels, Hala has acquired exceptional skills in analyzing and determining skill levels and areas of strengths and weaknesses.
Hala has pursued her passion for Mathematics and teaching towards establishing a welcoming and enthusiastic environment for her students, while being aware of the stigma around Mathematics and the conformity it brings upon. Hala understands that not everyone learns the same way, therefore works with students on their own pace while integrating methods of teaching that correlate with the student's learning style.
Hala's goal in tutoring/teaching is to eliminate the idea that "not everyone is a math person", or any form of social labeling, as this prevents students from believing in themselves and performing tasks they are capable of succeeding in. Therefore, Hala continuously encourages her students to challenge themselves and achieve success regardless of any barriers they may face.
