Senior Math and English Teacher.
About:Jacy is currently pursuing her Master of Teaching degree at OISE, with teachable subjects Mathematics and English. Before this, she earned her Bachelor of Arts & Science degree from McGill University, majoring in Mathematics and English Literature. Jacy has extensive experience teaching, particularly Math, through placements at both Central Technical School (CTS) and University of Toronto Schools (UTS). These placements also provided her with the opportunity to do additional work with students outside of class-time, providing one-on-one help during lunchtime hours at CTS and volunteering with the Senior Math Club after school at UTS. Jacy has a variety of more general tutoring and teaching experience as well; she ran educational literacy-focused programs with the Region of Waterloo Library and Waterloo Public Library for the past two summers, she volunteered as an editor with the Arts Undergraduate Society of McGill University's Essay Centre, and she spent three years volunteering as a mentor with Homework Zone, an after-school homework help program run by the Social Equity and Diversity Education Office of McGill University.
Jacy has a passion for teaching and believes that being positive, being present, and forming personal connections with students is the key to a successful tutoring relationship. In her free time, Jacy enjoys reading, watching movies, running, playing tennis, and exploring Toronto.
