Primary Junior Teacher
After completing a Bachelor of Arts at Ryerson's Early Childhood Studies
Program, Jamie followed her passion for teaching, which led her to the
University of Toronto. She is currently a Teacher Candidate in the Masters
of Teaching (OISE) Program, with high hopes in becoming a transformative
and inspiring K-6 teacher.
Jamie is a creative and innovative educator with over 8 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings, including daycares, classrooms, and extracurricular programs. She is familiar with PECS, and is experienced in supporting students of varying abilities, needs, and learning styles.
Additionally, Jamie is a trained SSAT Coach and she enjoys helping students
prepare for this test in the areas of mathematics, reading comprehension
and verbal analogies.
She is supportive and empathetic in nature, with a strong focus on student success. She values physical activity and health, and plays many sports on her spare time. She has also coached in a Youth Basketball Program, and has designed stimulating, age appropriate, and creative games to scaffold students' fundamental abilities. She believes in every student's abilities, being there for them as not only a tutor, but a tutor-mentor.
