Her roles have been as diverse as the ages she has worked with and include titles like Camp Supervisor at a northern Ontario summer camp, Training and Development Executive for a Wilfrid Laurier University service team, and Job Coach for adults with special needs.
Josie believes that in order for students to become life long learners, they must enjoy learning first. When it comes to teaching, Josie is passionate about making education fun and helping each student find joy and success in learning. She is patient and persistent – if one method of instruction doesn’t work, she works to find a new, more effective way to develop the understanding of her learners. Josie is well acquainted with a variety of instructional strategies and incorporates concrete materials and the use of technology when applicable. Josie knows that each student has unique strengths and skill sets and she helps her students realize their own capabilities so that they can independently achieve their learning goals.
