Junior/Intermediate Generalist & SSAT Coach
Kathryn received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto in 2014. She took a variety of courses in her undergrad, and has a strong sense of all areas of the curriculum. Kathryn is a graduate of the Master of Teaching program at OISE, with a specialization in Primary/Junior. Her research project looks at how teachers can use music to teach math, finding a way to combine two of her passions. She has taken courses in Special Education and Mental Health, Literacy and Reading Disorders, Cognitive Development, and Language Acquisition. She has experience tutoring students of all ages in all subject areas. She spent two summers working with reluctant readers, fostering a love of reading while building important literacy skills. She spent this past November working in a Primary Special Education classroom, engaging students through real-world activities to build critical numeracy, literacy, and social skills. Kathryn is also a Wilson trained specialist and an SSAT coach. She enjoys incorporating students' passions into her tutoring, making sessions relevant and fun.
