Lisa has travelled to and in lived in many different countries. She graduated
from Trent University with a Bachelor of Arts Honors, in History. She
then set out to Australia where she obtained her Teaching Degree at the
University of the Sunshine Coast. Lisa continued to live in Australia
for two years and while there had the opportunity to begin her career
as a Teacher. Lisa taught multiple grade levels from Kindergarten to Eighth
Grade and delivered an array of subjects. When Lisa returned to Canada
in 2013 she began working as an ABA/IBI Therapist and a Child and Youth
Worker for individuals with ASD. Her experience working with individuals
with Exceptional Needs is vast, she is passionate about assisting individuals
in reaching their highest levels of success, both academically and socially.
Ms. Groskorth has also worked as a Special Needs Teacher and a Middle
School Teacher. Being a qualified Primary/Junior teacher has given her
the background experience and knowledge needed to program individual plans.
Lisa’s teaching position at the Primary/Junior level both in Ontario
and in the Queensland State Education system has given her many skills
and strategies to work with all ages and exceptionalities. She has experience
in planning curriculum based units and lessons, differentiating her teaching
styles and making student specific accommodations. Developing meaningful
relationships with all students and communicating with parents on a day
to day basis is very important to her. Outside of Teaching, Lisa is a
big lover of sports. She loves the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Maple Leafs
as well as the Green Bay Packers. Travelling is a big passion of hers;
she is always willing to share stories, just ask!
