Maria graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies. She continued on her education journey to The University of Toronto, where she completed her Bachelor of Education in Primary/Junior. Maria is a strong believer in ongoing professional learning and she continues to embark on educational endeavours. She is not only a certified teacher, but also registered with the College of ECEs.
Over the years, Maria has volunteered and worked at various educational settings. She is familiar working within childcare and school environments, assisting and educating children of various ages including Preschool to Grade 6. She has outstanding knowledge in mathematics, literacy and science, and is very familiar with the Ontario curriculum. Maria has experience teaching all core subjects to students from Grades 1 to 6, within the classroom and on an individual basis.
Maria has a passion for learning and attempts to instil motivation in students by incorporating engaging and interactive activities that are based off interests and learning styles. All children learn in different ways and it is Maria’s goal to help them achieve success. Maria will help students become independent and confident learners, who challenge themselves and reach their goals.
On a personal note, Maria speaks English and Greek fluently and loves playing soccer and volleyball. She is family oriented, enjoys spending time outdoors and building 3D puzzles. She loves challenging herself within education and work, and aims to have fun in life!
