Melanie graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Physical Education and received her Bachelor of Education from Trent University. She is certified by the Ontario College of Teachers to teach at both the primary and junior levels. She currently teaches a grade 2/3 split class. Melanie has additional qualifications in Special Education, Kindergarten, Math and Technology. As a teacher, Melanie understands the importance of being a life-long learner. Melanie instills this belief in her students by making education and learning fun! Melanie is also trained in the Wilson Reading System.
Melanie has experience teaching many different grade levels and subjects. Melanie strongly believes that every student can learn, it's how they learn that is different. She adapts her lessons to fit the individual needs of her students to ensure they are successful. She strives to help her students be confident in their learning and to be able to achieve their individual goals.
When Melanie isn’t teaching, you can find her with her three dogs Kira, Aero and Motion competing in agility and other dog sports. Melanie also coaches basketball, volleyball, and track and field.
