Primary/Junior Special Education Tutor
I have a Bachelor Degree in English Literature from Concordia University, and a Bachelor of Education from Niagara University in Niagara Falls, N.Y., where I graduated with Honours. Recently I have received additional qualifications in Special Education, as well as Kindergarten. I have been teaching and tutoring for the past 8 years with a background primarily in primary/junior education. I have experience tutoring primary/junior students in all subjects, with a specialization in reading and comprehension. I am also trained in The Wilson Reading program, which is used to help students struggling with spelling and reading. Not only do I work with elementary students, I also am an organizational coach for senior grades, where I help students who need help with scheduling, note taking, binder management and essay writing.
I am very interested in creating an inclusive environment in my classrooms where students from all backgrounds and with varied learning styles can feel engaged. In my free time I volunteer with the TDSB in a kindergarten class. I love taking my dog Barley for long walks, swimming and doing arts and crafts. I love to make things with my own hands, from macramé to knitting!
