About:Monica received her Bachelor of Arts at Ryerson University for Early Childhood Studies. Monica has recently completed her Master of Teaching at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education with a specialization in Primary/Junior. Her research focuses on supporting English Language Learners in Full-Day Kindergarten.
Through her Early Childhood Studies education, Monica had the opportunity to work in various child care setting and schools, which allowed her to enhance her skills in child development. Monica has completed several student teaching experiences with students in the primary/junior grades.
Monica has participated in a variety of professional development workshops, including Celebrating Linguistic Diversity and TRIBES, which focuses on community building in the classroom. Monica has recently completed her Special Education part 1 additional qualification, and is currently enrolled in Mathematics Part 1.
Monica is an energetic person who enjoys working with children. She believes that when a positive learning environment and individualized instruction and tools are provided, success will be achieved. On her spare time, Monica enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and swimming.
