Primary Junior Teacher
About:Natasha is a TRIBES certified, Registered Early Childhood Educator for the YMCA of Greater Toronto and graduate of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) program at Brock University. She is currently completing a Master of Teaching degree from the University of Toronto through the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Her research focuses on how teachers in Toronto effectively foster mental health wellness in their classrooms and the broader school community. She promotes holistic wellness and encourages an inquiry pedagogy in her teaching practice.
In addition to teaching, she has experience conducting academic research and writing research reports and manuscripts. During her undergraduate studies she worked as part of a research team in a child psychology research project, and she she currently holds a position as a research assistant, working in the field of education and child psychology at McGill University. She has a growing passion for the research process and hopes to publish her first manuscript this summer.
Natasha specializes in tutoring literacy and mathematics, but has experience in a wide range of subjects. As a classroom volunteer and an Early Childhood Educator, Natasha has extensive experience with children of all ages and abilities. She has over five years of experience within the field of early childhood education, ranging from community-based in-school youth mentorship programs, to clinical children’s rehabilitation settings for children with identified special needs.
Throughout her academic career, Natasha has experienced a wide variety of teaching and leadership opportunities, which have solidified the importance of providing quality education to youth. She is very excited to be a part of the PAT team and looks forward to bringing her enthusiasm for teaching and learning into her work as a tutor!
