Primary Junior and Intermediate Teacher
I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Ottawa with Honours by majoring in Geography and minoring in Sociology. After undergrad, I tutored students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 in a variety of subjects including math, science, English and social studies/geography. I then took my Bachelors of Education, specializing in Primary and Junior, at Queen’s University. At Queens, I did my practicums in a grade ½, 3 and a 5/6 class in Kingston, Ontario. I taught lessons in mathematics, social studies, English & literature, science and physical education. After graduating teachers college, I became qualified to teach the intermediate grades from Trent University. Since completing my B. Ed and my Intermediate teaching qualifications I have been tutoring students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 at multiple schools. I then went on to be an Occasional Teacher in the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario. In this role, I supply taught students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in a variety of subjects and disciplines. Additionally, I am a trained SSAT coach. I enjoy preparing kids in the areas of mathematics, writing, analogies and reading comprehension to succeed on the SSAT test. I have gained a strong grasp of the curriculum and teaching/ tutoring methods for all age groups with these past experiences. I would enjoy the opportunity to tutor your child in a variety of subjects and I have many experiences with all age groups.
