Intermediate Teacher and Academic Coach
Rebecca received her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto followed by a Bachelor of Education degree, specializing in the primary and junior areas, from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. In addition, she has completed the Special Education Additional Qualification course and has her Certificate of Bilingual Studies in French Immersion. She always wanted to become an elementary school teacher, and has such a strong passion for teaching and helping others. Rebecca has been working in elementary school classrooms and tutoring since 2008, and has experience working with students ranging from junior kindergarten through grade eight. Rebecca is also a skilled academic and organizational coach for students in the senior grade levels. She enjoys helping students success by working with them on skills such as note taking, study habits, calendaring and sequencing of tasks. Rebecca loves working with students one-on-one in order to truly meet their needs, build strong relationships, and create unique program plans geared to each student’s personality, interests, and learning style. Rebecca is a trained SSAT coach and enjoys guiding students through this test taking process. She is also trained in both the Direct Instruction Reading Mastery Program and in the Wilson Reading Program, and has had much success in helping struggling readers and writers. When not in the classroom, you can find Rebecca on the golf course, the basketball court, the soccer pitch, or at the curling rink.
