Primary, Junior and Intermediate French Teacher
Robert Grant recently graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Second Language Teaching, paired with a minor in Advanced French as a Second Language and English Literature. Robert is currently completing his Master of Teaching at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), at the University of Toronto, specializing in the Intermediate/Senior grade levels. He has an abundance of different teaching experience, including one-on-one French tutoring, leading French conversation workshops at the Institute of Official Languages and Bilingualism at the University of Ottawa, as well as tutoring and running socio-cultural excursions for English as a Second Language (ESL) learners through the University of Ottawa. During his summer months, he works at a Summer Camp, where he is in constant interaction with the youth. Alongside working for a summer camp, Robert plans and facilities activities and excursions for new ESL students arriving to Canada. Robert has a strong passion for the French language, and wants to motivate and inspire his students in order for them to not only learn the language, but also to enjoy learning the language! His passion for French stems from his incredible high school French teachers. He was inspired immensely by them, enough to participate in two international exchange programs. The first one took place in grade 10 in Istes, France. The following exchange occurred in Lyon, France, during the entirety of his third year of university. In both cases, he was completely immersed in the French language and the French culture. As a result of these experiences, Robert is a fluent French speaker and aspires to teach and instill a love for French in his students. On his spare time, Robert likes to read, spend time with friends and family, and play music.
