About:

Sarah graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. Hons. in Comparative Literature. She earned her teaching certification in Childhood Education from D’Youville College, and is certified by the Ontario College of Teachers to teach students at the Primary Junior and Intermediate levels. Sarah has O.C.T. additional qualifications in Kindergarten Special Education and Literacy. She is currently an occasional teacher with the Simcoe County District School Board and has prior experience as an Educational Assistant with the York Region District School Board. Sarah has nearly a decade of teaching and tutoring experience including literacy and speech language intervention training with the Sound Connections program as well as experience working with a ride range of students with exceptional needs including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety and Down Syndrome. Sarah also enjoys teaching early literacy skills as well as ESL students of all ages. Sarah believes that each child has the potential to succeed academically and that tutoring sessions should always be uniquely tailored to meet their individual style of learning. She ensures each tutoring session combines fun and challenging games with an academic focus while building self-confidence through positive reinforcement and continual review of academic skills.
