Sarah is a data driven, reflective educator who is a graduate of the Master
of Teaching program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education,
University of Toronto. During her Master’s Degree Sarah wrote a
Major Research Project, for which she won the Social Science and Humanities
Research Council (SSHRC) fellowship. Her project is rooted in various
approaches to critical literacy. She is now working on publishing her
findings as a graphic novel, to be used as a grade 6 social studies curriculum
supplement. Sarah is passionate about literacy and believes that every
student can be successful once they understand how they learn. As such,
Sarah’s pedagogy emanates from a Multiple Intelligence (MI) approach.
She feels that it is critical that all her students know how to best support
themselves in achieving academic success. She is also a certified yoga
teacher and mindfulness practitioner and believes that these ancient te
chniques are extremely helpful for supporting active and hyperactive learners.
