Primary Junior Teacher
Shauna is a passionate educator with in-class, English as a Second Language, and outdoor education experience. She is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, having a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University with qualifications to teach Primary and Junior Divisions, as well as a specialty in Outdoor and Experiential Education. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from St. Francis Xavier University. Shauna has four years of international teaching experience in South Korea, which has given her an immense appreciation for the unique and diverse needs of ESL learners. She also develops and instructs outdoor education programs for students of all ages, connecting Ontario curriculum expectations and learning skills with outdoor skill building and exploration. Shauna strives to empower her students through hands-on, experiential education that targets each student’s individual interests and strengths. She creates lessons that are both meaningful and challenging, and supports each student towards realizing their true potential. Shauna is extremely thoughtful, supportive, and creative, putting the needs of her students above all else. In addition to teaching, Shauna loves traveling, exploring nature by kayak and on foot, and trying to play the ukulele!
