Senior Science Teacher
Stefano completed his Master of Science degree in 2017 at York University. During his time as a graduate student, Stefano worked as a teaching assistant for the department of biology and natural science. As a teaching assistant, he was responsible for directing laboratory experiments to help clarify challenging course concepts for first year students. During the summer of 2016, Stefano was an instructor for York University’s Helix summer science enrichment program for high school students. He created a one-week laboratory and lecture based program that provided Gr. 11 and 12 students with a “hands on” approach to understanding important concepts in biology and chemistry. Stefano also has experience with private 1:1 tutoring particularly in Gr. 9 and 10 general sciences as well as Gr. 11 and 12 Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
Stefano firmly believes that successfully improving a student’s understanding of science requires 1) application of these sometimes complex concepts to real world situations and 2) building the student’s confidence towards the material. His tutoring approach focuses on these two methods.
Stefano is a huge sports fan and enjoys watching a variety of different sports. On his spare time, he also enjoys cycling and playing hockey.
