About:Stephanie Tacit is a qualified teacher who specializes in music and social sciences at the intermediate and senior levels. She graduated from University of Toronto in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) and Bachelor of Education prior to joining the Ontario College of Teachers. Since then, Stephanie has rapidly expanded her teaching repertoire by broadening her subject expertise and undergoing continuous professional development (including TRIBES certification).
During the past five months, Stephanie taught a variety of high school subjects to students with various educational disabilities at The Study Academy in Toronto. She taught grade 9 applied mathematics, grade 9 applied geography, and grade eleven philosophy according to the Ontario Curriculum as well as two non-credit courses in philosophy and English. Stephanie also assisted a high-needs student in a split grade 9/10 physical education class and taught the entire class for two weeks during a teacher's unplanned absence.
Prior to working at The Study Academy, Stephanie spent two years working as a supply teacher in London, UK, during which time she taught a wide variety of subjects to students of all ages (JK-12) and with various learning profiles (including ESL and complex special education considerations). While in the UK, Stephanie taught lessons in mathematics, science, geography, history, English, French, Spanish, music, art, physical education, and other subject areas.
Stephanie's broad subject knowledge, versatility, and passion for education are key strengths that reflect her philosophy of teaching. She has received glowing feedback from a number of schools in Canada and the UK based on her ability to adapt quickly to change while demonstrating compassion and commitment to her students.
