Tanja is an Ontario Certified Teacher currently pursuing her Masters of Arts full time in Curriculum Teaching and Learning with a collaborative focus on Comparative International Development Education. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto, specializing in Intermediate/Senior Physical and Health Education and Social Studies. Tanja also received her Bachelor of Physical and Health Education from the University of Toronto, minoring in French as a Second Language. She has since completed additional educational courses on French as a Second Language, and has her Honour’s Specialist in Physical and Health Education.
Tanja has 9 years experience teaching Ontario curriculum in both local and international contexts. She is a passionate and committed educator with the desire and ability to work internationally as well as locally in diverse and multicultural environments. She has taught in Malaysia and Canada and has managed sustainable international development projects in South Africa and the Eastern Caribbean region. Her current research interests include examining the current life skills training programs and their promotion and delivery of peace building education to children in conflict zones.
Tanja develops trusting relationships with her students by listening to their needs on an individual basis. She encourages them to meet their potential and always tries to connect with them using a little bit of humour and fun.
