Tanya Silander graduated from the University of Ottawa (with Honours) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a specialization in Cell and Molecular Biology. She then earned a Master of Science degree in Neuroscience with a specialization in neuroendocrine dysfunction in males with hypothyroidism.
Tanya, a former laboratory assistant at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, currently writes medical literature for people without a scientific background with the aim of improving their understanding of the information. She also tutors students ranging from grades give to University in English, Math, and Science, with a particular focus on test-taking and essay-writing skills, and developing a fun attitude toward problem-solving within math and science.
She has a passion for teaching and shares in her students’ triumph when overcoming obstacles in their studies. Her experience with writing published scientific journal articles, grants, and medical literature makes her a valuable resource in assisting with university and college applications, bursary or scholarship forms, as well as cover letters and personal statements.Through enthusiasm, hard work, and commitment, Tanya will work with your child to meet his / her goals.
