Tristina is an Ontario Certified Teacher in the Primary/Junior divisions.
She attended Laurentian University where she received her Bachelor of
Arts in English and her Bachelor of Education. Shortly after graduating,
Tristina accepted a teaching job in Hong Kong where she worked at a private
learning centre teaching English. While in Hong Kong Tristina created
lesson plans, program curriculums, and taught children aged 2-10. Being
a native English speaker, in a place where English is not the first language,
gave Tristina both the compassion and practice for teaching English as
a second language. Since returning to Canada, Tristina has volunteered
in schools, tutored, and worked as an Educational Assistant. She is currently
an Occasional Teacher with the York Region District School Board. Tristina's
passion is fuelled by her drive to enrich and motivate young learners.
She believes there is nothing more rewarding than helping a child realize
his/her academic potential. Tristina has wanted to be a teacher ever since
she was a little girl and considers herself one of the lucky few who truly
love what they do.
