About:Bonjour tout le monde! I believe that the opportunity to teach and inspire students is a positively rewarding and honorable task that I embrace with great joy. My passion is teaching and a commitment to life-long learning enriched by professional studies and years of travel. My education includes a Combined Honours B.A. with a specialization in French and a minor in English, a B.Ed., an FSL (French as a Second Language) Specialist, and certificates for bilingual fluency and the completion of Tribes Teaching Philosophy. Sharing my French proficiency and appreciation for Canada’s rich bilingual heritage gained by attending two language bursary programs in different regions of Quebec, has influenced my students in a positive way. They embrace the bilingual programs that I have designed with enthusiasm, an increase in comfort level, and an interest in culture and international studies.
In my 12 years of teaching full time as an Ontario certified teacher and three years student teaching, I have taught various subjects, mainly Core French, an advanced French Program called Extended French, and even French to gifted students. During this time, I have taught young adolescents and teenagers, worked with high school students and volunteered their community hours, and acted as bilingual host and supervising teacher, including a bilingual moderator and judge for French Speech Arts for the Ontario Modern Language Teachers Association. It was also wonderful experience teaching Ugandan orphans both French and English.
Outside of teaching, my hobbies include volunteering in church communities and in camps as a counselor, candle and soap making, painting, an active and healthy life style, and baking and cooking for my loving husband and friends. I love it when I discover simply delicious vegan and gluten free recipes. J’adore la vie!
