Senior English and Social Science Teacher.
Zoe has her Masters of Teaching degree from OISE and is qualified to teach Intermediate/Senior English and Social Science. She has also earned her Honours with Distinction Bachelor of Arts from University of Toronto in English, Anthropology and Film Studies, graduating in 2014.
At OISE, Zoe has successfully completed four practicum placements at the University of Toronto Schools, Central Technical School, Harbord Collegiate Institute, as well as an international placement teaching at an IB school in Hong Kong. Zoe has experience teaching English as a Second Language in rural Mainland China. In addition, Zoe has experience working with remedial reading programs such as the Wilson Reading System.
Zoe also has significant work experience in education, with the most notable being the two years she spent working at a private boarding school, Lakefield College School (LCS). At LCS, Zoe was an assistant head of a residence as well as a supply teacher and co-teacher. Zoe mentored the girls in her residence academically and socially, and she also supply taught various classes, including English, Social Science, History, French and Drama. Zoe also co-taught grade 12 AP English Literature, grade 12 English and grade 11 Anthropology/Psychology and Sociology on a consistent basis. At LCS, Zoe was also an organizational and English private tutor. Zoe also teaches SAT and ACT Prep Classes for students aspiring to attend college or university in the United States.
Zoe also has much experience with adolescents outside of the classroom, including coaching field hockey, skiing, and track and field, as well as co-directing plays. She has volunteered at Camp Oochigeas and loves spending time with young people. Zoe believes in teaching through relationships, and her empathetic and bubbly personality allows students to feel at ease with her.
When Zoe isn't at school or teaching, she loves to write creatively, read, play field hockey, run, and watch theatre.
