Primary Junior Special Education Tutor
Zoe holds a B.A. (Honours, with distinction) and a B.Ed. in the primary/junior divisions, both from Queen’s University. She is certified by the Ontario College of Teachers and has had extensive experience with exceptional learners and arts integration. Zoe is committed to the success of her students, sensitive to individual differences and dedicated to employing strategies that promote a love of learning and encourage a positive work ethic. Over the past 6 years, she has worked in classrooms from Kindergarten to grade 8 and is well-versed in the Ontario curriculum. Zoe is an avid believer in making learning accessible and relevant to the individual student’s passions and interests while boosting self-confidence and efficacy. She has had experience working in MID classrooms and with students with Individualized Education Plans, as well as with a host of organizations that provide programming to those with special needs. Zoe’s background in, and love for, the arts comes out in her teaching as she understands and can utilize different creative techniques to help each one of her students understand concepts from all subjects areas and apply them to their lives. Additionally, Zoe is a trained SSAT Coach at both the Upper and Lower level and she enjoys guiding students through this test-taking process. She is currently working towards her additional qualifications in special education, intermediate teaching division and Applied Behaviour Analysis.
